During a 19-year career as a Porsche factory driver, Patrick Long won everything a sportscar driver can win. Few drivers can provide our customers with this level of insight into driver training.
Over the years, we have been fortunate to spend a lot of time with Patrick developing our Motion Pro II full motion simulator. In this video, Patrick provides insight into how to prepare for a simulator session. Starting with the seating, wheel and pedal position, Patrick also provides a look at how he adjusts and tunes the software – in this case, iRacing. Patrick even tailors the motion, steering and braking settings on the Motion Pro II to replicate the car he is about to drive.
Once that is done, Patrick drives the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) onto one of the best circuits in North America – the 3.4-mile version of Watkins Glen International, where the Porsche Carrera Cup North America held the fourth round of their 2023 season championship.
