January 21, 2013 is a day to be remembered in the car enthusiast community. With one-day gross car sales of $109 million, there were certainly head turners among the lot. The 1955 Lincoln Futura “Batmobile” and a 1958 Corvette were just two of the many vehicles up for sale. Although the Auction itself was an all day attention grabber, there was more to this event than buying cars. CXC Simulations awed auction-goers with two Motion PRO II simulators alongside other vendors outside of the auction.
Unique Cars for a Unique Crowd
What began as a charity fundraising car show in the 1960’s has become a car enthusiast entertainment event without equal. The many exciting side attractions that take place at the auction are second to the show put on by the organizers to showcase the vehicles for sale. Visitors and bidders gazed upon cars like Clark Gable’s 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL, a Porsche 928 from 1980, a 1968 Ford Mustang and even the 2009 Ford F-150 Super Crew pickup that President George W. Bush owned. Car and auto racing aficionados from around the world came to see what custom cars were up for sale by a variety of private collectors and dealers.
More Than an Auction
While millions of dollars were being bid on cars at the Auction, CXC was wowing thousands of visitors with the Motion PRO II. With two units available for testing, a 65” screen for onlookers to watch, six staff members to answer any questions and an all-new booth design for 2013, heads were turning to see what all the fuss was about. Even the Speed Channel got in on the excitement and gave the CXC booth great coverage during the auction’s airing. This was also the first time that the new touch control system for the Race Director Server was in use. As a second year vendor, CXC Simulation’s success as a crowd favorite is a testament to the quality craftsmanship and design that stands behind the Motion PRO II.
